Maui Snorkeling - Best Locations and Tips

Here you will find many spectacular snorkeling beaches in Maui. Snorkel equipment can dive from beach vendors or schools for less than $ 10 are rented by the week. Several suppliers also hire flotation devices and prescription glasses.

In the best snorkeling beaches in Maui are Kapalua Beach, Black Rock, Kaanapali Beach in front of the Sheraton and the coast of Kihei and Wailea coast.

Olowalu Beach is popular with snorkeling, I want to see the turtles, but you have to swim 150-225 yards from the shore - there is a turtle cleaning system (where turtles have been programmed for small fish parasites removed from the cleaner) to find. Pretty impressive. The problem, however, so far from shore with a swimming pool here that Olowalu is one of the most dangerous places for sharks. I like turtles on a snorkeling cruise to see, at the Maui Ocean Center or at the Iceland Punalu'lu Big Beach.

Molokini Crater Snorkel Tours

MolokiniCrater Snorkeling is another popular spot and is one of the most popular attractions in Maui. You've probably seen pictures of it on Hawaii travel brochures or web pages. This is a partially submerged volcanic crater that an amazing marine protected area. It can get pretty crowded here, but it's worth it!

The crescent of Molokini, which is visible above the water in all its publicity material is produced by partially submerged crater. And this is a half moon on the surfaceprotects the reef, so the amazing clarity, seats up to 150 feet distant view of about 250 species of fish that swim here. (So Molokini is also popular with divers.)

You can reach this popular snorkeling spot on a Hawaii cruise kayak or snorkel tour. It is about 3 miles from the coast, so take this into account when looking at a kayak tour. Since the sanctuary is a proven Hawai'i State Marine Life and Bird Conservation District, the tourBoat mooring buoys instead of anchors to protect the reef.

If you want to see dolphins or whales, you may be able to work in a cruise around the mouthpiece. For Dolphin View, the morning is the best.
